Improve your décolletage with bust creams

As women get older and go through pregnancy and breastfeeding, weight loss and gain, or simply stop defying gravity, breasts can start to sag and lose their perkiness.

From firming to enlarging, there are a number of bust creams on the market which promise to enhance, firm or simply improve a woman’s breasts. In this article we look at how bust creams work, the ingredients they contain and whether it’s time for us to throw away our padded, push up bras or even to reconsider going under the surgeon’s knife.

How They Work

The skin on a woman’s bust is very thin and very delicate – similar to that around the eyes. For that reason, it tends to show crinkles and creases sooner than other parts of the body, meaning it can be one of the first areas to show signs of ageing. To take special care of this unique area, it’s a good idea to choose a cream which is designed especially to firm and moisturise the bust. Specific bust creams are found in most skincare ranges, from budget to blowout products.

Most bust creams are not backed up by a huge amount of scientific research although, of course, lots of their individual ingredients are. According to Dr. Marianna Blyumin-Karasik of the Baumann Cosmetic and Research Institute, it’s for that reason that bust creams will “claim that that they have ingredients that theoretically improve skin quality and then lead to firming, but they have no evidence to back it up”. Of course, daily moisturising will help to improve the tone and appearance of your skin as well as making it feel firmer and look fabulous.

What They Contain

The ingredients in bust firming creams usually consist of moisturisers and antioxidants which are designed to help improve the tone and texture of your skin. Breast creams tend to contains lots of natural elements, and normally at least one of the following ingredients:

How to Use Them

Most bust creams are designed to be used once or twice a day as part of your regular skincare routine and in order to improve the look and feel of your décolletage. Like all moisturisers, these products should be applied using light, sweeping upward movements. For best results, apply your cream, lotion or gel upwards from the base of your breast, over the breasts, up your neck, towards the chin.
