Love Boo is a delightful collection of luxurious natural skin, bath and beauty products for new mums and their babies. Relatively pricey, they seem like the perfect presents for celebrating new arrivals and indeed there are plenty of gorgeously packaged gift sets on their website ranging from £16.99 up to £160 for ‘The Ultimate Maternity Case’.
Love Boo Bosom Buddy falls into the brand’s mid-price range at £18.99 for 125ml, and is promoted as ‘A natural, firming boob lotion that helps banish stretch marks too!’ Recently voted Best Breast Toner by Now magazine, who described it as a ‘fresh-scented wonder cream’, it is supposed to soften, smooth and tighten the bust with its all-natural ingredients, including centella, ginkgo biloba and argan oil. Furthermore, for those sleep-deprived new mummies, the combined scent of lemon, ginger, mandarin and peppermint acts is promoted as a ‘natural pick me up’, capable of perking up minds as well as bosoms.
Undeniably charmingly packaged and delectably fragranced, this is indeed a lovely product. I should be honest and admit that I’m neither pregnant nor a new mother, which is the target audience of this paraben, sulphate, TEA and petrochemical-free cream. But I have had children and experienced the bust-changing effects of pregnancy and nursing, and I can tell that this would be a most welcome addition to any new mum’s beauty routine.
Used for a month morning and night, my breasts appear particularly well moisturised, and it’s true – the scent is delicious. I luckily escaped stretch marks during pregnancy, but having used similar products at that time I’m pretty sure that regular use of this cream would definitely help in the fight against the tell-tale silver lines. At this price I’m not convinced I’d buy Love Boo Bosom Buddy for myself, but I would definitely splash out on behalf of a pregnant friend, and would have gratefully accepted and used such a gift had I received it when I was expecting.
Verdict: Highly recommended as a luxury treat for your pregnant or breastfeeding buddies, this lovely product is sure to bring a smile as well as softer, perkier breasts.
