Liz Earle Superskin Bust & Neck Treatment Review

Liz Earle’s Superskin range targets more mature consumers with a selection of beauty products designed to visibly plump and smooth older or particularly dry, ‘crepey’ skin. Along with Hand Serum, Moisturiser and Eye & Lip solutions, the brand’s Bust & Neck Treatment promises to rejuvenate the skin around the bust, neck and décolletage. Indeed, it is an ‘Anti-Aging Award Winner’ from Beauty Bible.

The serum’s hype suggests it is “perfect for skin which has lost elasticity and firmness or is ‘crepey’ due to sun exposure, age, weight change, pregnancy or menopause” – a one size fits all solution, then! As always, there’s a long list of naturally active ingredients to assist in the formulation, including kigelia extract, organic rosehip oil, cranberry seed oil, pomegranate extract and mangosteen extract.

It can be hard to package products for the more mature audience, but it has to be said that Bust & Neck Treatment is on to a winner here. Still in my thirties, I’m unsure if I’m exactly the target user age-wise – although I certainly tick a lot of boxes on the quick-fix list – but not only do I find the box and the bottle itself attractive and elegantly designed, I would have every confidence in buying it as a gift for my mother. The fact that the product uses no animal extracts is also appealing.

Massaged daily onto my bust, neck and décolletage, I can report that Bust & Neck Treatment has left my skin perfectly hydrated, although an older user would be better placed to comment on plumping up ‘crepey-ness’. I really appreciated the serum’s dual-purpose approach as an excellent neck moisturiser. There were only two slight downsides to this product: although the texture is absolutely superb and absorbs like a dream, the scent is distinctly grassy, which will translate into an ‘either love it or hate it’ response. Also, I had a few problems with the lid, which seemed to knock off too easily, and I was forever hunting for it in my cosmetics bag.

Verdict: This delicate serum targets more mature skins with its beautiful packaging and elegant presentation. Would make an excellent gift.
