Avon Solutions Body Lift And Firm Bust Liquid Bra Toning Gel – DISCONTINUED

Priced at just £6 for 150ml, the Liquid Bra Toning Gel from Avon Solutions is one of the cheapest bust products available, but is it good value for money or just a false economy?

Apparently, this Avon product began life as a cream and had a great following, but then the company decided to change the winning formula and came up with the new gel product, which is what I’m reviewing.

Let’s start with the packaging: it’s impossible. The instructions are in tiny black writing on a dark blue background. My eyesight may not be perfect, but it’s good enough, and I simply could not read what I was supposed to do with this gel… After tilting the tube to the light, holding it really close and squinting, I was finally able to decipher that every morning I had to, “apply to bust in an upward motion”.

What it doesn’t warn you is that the gel comes out quite quickly and you don’t need much at all – it took me at least a week to squeeze just the right amount. The gel is cold and sticky, and doesn’t get much better when you rub it in. In fact, when you wash your hands, it feels a little like you are removing papier-mâché mix from between your fingers. My hands are very dry and cracked after four weeks of using this product, and I don’t think that is just the harsh effects of the winter weather.

Reading the packaging, I discover I should, “Wait 30 seconds, or until product absorbs completely, before dressing.” Ah. Well, now we have a problem: it doesn’t sink in. The first week, I confess, I was applying too much, but the following three weeks of trialling this gel saw me wandering around the house, naked from the waist up for 15 minutes, while I waited for my bust to dry! And it didn’t really ever dry; my skin always felt slightly tacky. If you dress too soon however, any gel not yet absorbed stays put, and I frequently had an unpleasantly moist cleavage for the day.

Given all the gel’s flaws, the question is, does it work? No, not really in my opinion, unfortunately. I am a generous E cup and some reviews suggest it works better on smaller breasts, but I noticed no improvement or change after four weeks. It certainly did not “firm and tone the skin around your bustline for irresistible curves” as promised.

On the upside, the light fragrance is reasonably pleasant, the gel has been tested as hypoallergenic and suitable for sensitive skin, and the tube is large and lasts a long time. But, sadly, I won’t be using it again.

Verdict: The instructions say, “Wait 30 seconds, or until product absorbs completely, before dressing”, but this cool gel is not absorbed easily and leaves the skin feeling tacky. A disappointing product with no noticeable improvement in skin tone or firmness.
